Chester is on the London Euston to Holyhead Main Railway Line. There are direct trains to London Euston via Crewe but London to Glasgow trains can be accessed using the Chester to Crewe Service. There are also connections to Manchester via Warrington for Northern routes and Cross Pennine Routes or Manchester via Northwich and Altrincham to connect with Manchester Metrolink Trams. Chester also has services to the North Wales Coast Resorts and the Irish Ferries at Holyhead. Chester is also the terminus of the electrified Merseyrail Wirral Line from Liverpool City Centre.
